How to criticize a work?! (A small discussion)

First topic message reminder :

Hi guys, I've been wanting to open this up dati pa. Gawin natin tong small discussion on how to properly criticize a work by colleagues to guide us into a better understanding of what we are doing.

Aside from the fact that we are super sensitive as artist, lalo na when it comes to our personal works. It is also important that we stress the points of improvement directly and objectively. Wala na sanang pasikot sikot pa o pasaring na tipong double meaning ang dating.

The goal of this thread is to develop a good sense of critic.

Below are some phrases or words that I personally do not like seeing in post: You may also share yours and suggests. Everybody is welcome to contribute.

1. parang may mali... or sa monitor ko lang. (what's the sense kung iba naman pala ang monitor mo di ba?)
2. nagtataka lang ako sa door (ground floor), parang grainy sya, o sa mata ko lang. (avoid na natin yung mga side comments na sa mata ko lang, hindi talaga nakakatulong sa pagimprove yan.)
3...

Ito naman ang mga suggestions ko on how to critic:
1. point out the mistakes
2. suggest solutions on how to improve them
3. explain why if you find anything odd
4. suggest references if you have time
5. go direct to the point
6. be objective
7. avoid unnecessary comments
8. avoid using local dialects for everyone to benefit from the discussions

Sa thread na to, sana maimprove natin ang pagcritic. Yung mga compliments naman, hayaan na muna natin, these are ego boosters which I have observed will help improve a persons mood. a happy mood means good everything. Smile

@ sir tarugong, my personal opninion lang po,

first of all sir tama ka na mali nga yung isang member na napikon sa comment pero parang mali din ata naging reaction mo. Dapat sir pinaliwanag mo kung bakit ganun ang comment mo. Ma baban ka nga sir kung gumawa ka ng harsh comment at nasa forum rules natin yun.

second, Yung topic na ginawa mo sir, bawal din yun kaya na ban ka for the second time,

third, i dont know kung eto talaga reason nung moderator kung bakit ka na ban ulit. Bawal kasi gumawa ng multiple accounts dito. Dapat hinintay mo na lang muna matapos yung ban mo.

Mali naman ata yung sinabi mo na pikon mostly mga tao dito. Hindi mo pa nakilala lahat ng members dito. Maybe naka tiempo ka lang ng member na madaling mapikon. And Im sure napikon ka rin nung ma ban ka ng tatlong beses, am I right? Hindi ka naman ibaban ng mga moderator kung walang reason talaga. Kahit sino pwede ma ban dito kung lalabag siya sa forum rues natin.

Anyway, tama ka na dapat healthy forum ito na dapat may negative at harsh comments minsan. Malaki na ang pagbabago ngayon sa mga comments and natauhan na yung mga members dati na napipikon agad.

Hintayin natin side ng mga moderator. Personal opinion ko lang ito. PEace!

ok let me make this clear. hindi masama ang comments mo,

1. pero ang username mo is offensive, you violated a rule there.
2. text speak is another violation.

Kaya ka naban. you don't read the rules. I am banning you once again. if you really want to join and make good/negative comments, register again and register well. kung hindi, we will banned your IP. Sorry to jhero and bobpen kung masasali sila dito.

Again this is your last warning. don't make us do something more than this. I'm telling you. I hope that's clear.

dont get me wrong, hindi ako nag pupumilit maka pasok dito sa inyo. as i've said" just wanted to prove something" true enough! pikon mostly mga tao dito. ano bang forum to puro papuri gusto nyo, pag negative, magagalit kayo. pag mas masakit, ibaban ninyo. weh TALO!

@bokkins, kurdaps,mga pare i dont mean no harm, pero i think its time that u re think about the issue. mamaya lang banned nanaman ako, for sure. don'w worry i wont be registering again. i just hope may napulot lang kayo sa pangugulo ko ng ilang araw. jejeje

a healthy forum is supposed to have positive , negative, sometimes harsh comments and suggestions, wala pa kayo sa langit mga bro. wag kayo masyado mabait dito, di naman nakakamatay magcomment ng di maganda, kung totoo naman. ako nga buhay pa! weh.

Maniniwala na sana ako sayo... sinundan ko yung mga comments mo sa ibang thread, ang daming sablay... basta maka-comment lang, walang laman... kunyari marunong ka, ala namang kwenta pinagsasabi mo...
You're trying hard to be like a "fugitive" kaso napasobra, naging "trying hard" ka nlng tuloy...

your username reflects kung ano ang personality mo ,ganun pa man , i payed respect and nag pm ako sayo , but here you are? ano pa masasabi ko ...kahit ano sasabihin mo you will never earn trust and respect , ikaw mismo sumira sa sarili mo..its just simple ..kung naintindihan mo ..just simply change your username..wag kang bata bro.. pls grow up..

Sana tigilan na rin natin ang katatawag ng :

MASTER = "Masters are terms denoting some kind of rank or status"....master ng ano kagalingan o kapalpakan (pang-asar diba)?
SIR= "means mylord" madalas sa loob ng opisina ito ginagamit...
BOSS/BOSSING = pinapaswelduhan ba tayo?
at kung ano ano pa..kung sa huli naman eh laitan din ang mang yayari..

Kung gagamitin ito dahil sa paggalang bakit kaya mismong pangalan na nya ang gamitin para mas na i aaddress ng tama kung sino man sya . ONLY IN CGP kung baga!!.....

@ darkwarrior - tama ka sir, ginagamit ang iba dahil sa paggalang, pero tinatawag natin "MASTERS" ang iba kasi master naman sila ng kagalingan, or maybe magaling sila sa isang bagay. I think exaggerated naman masyado yung "my lord",,what i mean is di ba kapag gumagawa tayo ng letter or quotation we put "DEAR SIR/MADAM" so does it mean "DEAR MYLORD" na ba yun? yung "BOSSING" naman, i guess nasa dugo na natin mga pinoy ang paggamit nito kahit sino pa kausap natin. Nasa dugo na rin natin mga pinoy ang pagiging magalang.

what's the problem with that SIR? pano nakaka apekto ung pag tawag ng MASTER, SIR, at BOSSING sa pag criticize ng work nya? halimbawa, nagpost ka, nag reply ako, "Nice render you got here SIR!" does it mean panginoon na kita? at para ipaliwanag ko sayo ang ibig sabihin ng sir, it is a noun and a term of address for a man! at para sa mga Briton, a title used before the name of knight or baronet. pano napasok ang my lord na sinasabi mo? Thank you for this topic mga sir,mind opening, before medyo nadiscourage nga ako to post kasi walang nagcocoment or critic sa previous posts ko, pero at the same time naging positive naman sakin, na i should create something na atleast pleasing at the same time maraming magkakainterest magcritic or comment; that I have to improve my works. I think it is positive to receive negative comments or criticisms, kasi it helps you improve your work as well as your views on things.

I enjoy receiving papuri about my works but it'll be better if I receive criticisms with suggestion for my improvement... Smile

Master or Masters are terms denoting some kind of rank or status.

ito yung nakasanayan gamitin natin pero di natin alam ang tunay na ibig sabihin nito. Nag ibaba na lang ang paggamit dahil sa katagalan pero ang tunay na ibig sabihin ay nakalimutan. Maganda kasi sa pandinig kung baga...ito yung nakalagay sa post ko "kung sa huli naman eh laitan din ang mang yayari.. Ibig kong sabihin bakit mo pa sinabihan ng sir,master o bossing kung sahuli eh nilait mo din. wag na lang sana diba....
Siguro nga ibang iba ang filipino naka sanayan na talagang gamitin ang mga salitang hiram sa ibang lahi. Siguro nga di na maiaalis ang ganito. Your signature is very poorly done. I also don't like people calling people masters but i do not insult them in return.
Also, I assigned the five stars to moderators just to have them separated from the rest. So you better learn where you are coming from before you even speak. I hope you get that clear.

crystal clear Bokks. my signature dont intend the ranking that you give on Mods but rather for the comments on thread.
i rather consider everyone a part of my circle of friends rather than
giving them distinction and levels of respect with tags such as Masters.
again, i am addressing this on comments and replies on threads.
Honestly, we dont use such word here in our work area, and every time
i open a thread with comments addressing to " master and galing mo or isa kang master" everybody starts giggling.
apologies if it was poorly done, my bad, but again it was intended
to replies on thread and not on rankings that Mods designate.
