Re: PC Specs

Re: PC Specs
Yes unreasonable overclocking by a novice not recommended, pero kung alam mo na ginagawa mo walang masisira. I've been running my system overclocked for the last two years, using it for gaming, rendering, benchmarking, and the usual web surfing and watching videos. I've replaced the cpu, mobo, rams and gpu not because these parts failed but because I upgraded: just always make sure the psu is up to the task, madaming tao (sa buong mundo) walang paki sa specs ng psu samantalang pag nasira yun pwedeng damay lahat.
If money is not a problem buy the best Quad from Intel or wait for nehalem and run everything at stock for stability. Personally I have no problems OC'ing, using Vista64 SP1 and 3D Max 2009+Vray 1.5 SP2 and if you're using DDR2-800 modules you usually don't have to overclock the rams, they can run at stock.
If you want to go AMD then wait for the new procs this Dec08/Jan09.

I've been overclocking my processors no problem.. yeah for novice not recommended. benchmarking? who's on the lead? AMD or Intel?? Listen to the PRO
In ddr2 800 can you get a timing 4-4-4-12 without overclocking?

Re: PC Specs
Depende sa binili mong ram sir, ung cheap crucial ko ang jedec spec nya 5-5-5-18@1.8v pero EPP (enhanced performance profile) nya 4-4-4-12@2.2v or ddr2-1000 5-5-5-15@2.2v din. So kahit alin sa dalawa gamitin ko, jedec or epp, it's still running the memories within spec, no overclocking just setting the right voltage
Ung underwhelming 25% oc ko also gave me ~26% less sa rendering time without tweaking the memory timings.
@sir cadens: simply going to quad core rig (amd/intel) from a duron will give you huge performance gains that you don't need to OC especially if you're uncomfortable with it.
simple comparison nung nag-upgrade ako:
C2D @ 3.2GHz oc'ed = 31m 9.7s render time
C2Q @ 2.4GHz stock = 19m 33.9s render time

Re: PC Specs
CPU - sa ngayon best value sa quad core ung Q6600, ok sana ung newer models (Q9xxx) kaso masyado silang mahal para small gains, but these new models are cooler and less power hungry.
4670 512mb panalo tong card na to for 4,000 pesos.

Re: PC Specs
additional info:
kung gusto ng mabilis na hard drive get the Western Digital Raptor..medyo may kamahalan pero sulit... or you can get low gb capacity about 160gb SATA then raid0+ or raid1+ search nio na lang sa google un difference AFAIK raid1+ was safer. ramdam ang bilis lalo na sa loading nga mg programs and saving..kaya nga lang kapag failure harddrive mawawala lahat ng datas mo..pero bibihira lang mangyari un kung nasa right temp un comp mo..
video card: kung seryoso ka sa workstation or rendering go for quadrofx370 or quadrofx570 designed for workstation(rendering,3d apps)..Gaming cards iba architecture nia pagdating sa modelling.

Re: PC Specs
Verify your mobo first if it can handles 2.2v memories, some motherboard are not supplying 2.2v for memories.
