Hello CGPipol. matagal na po akong naiintriga nitong matte painting. marami akong nakikita sa forum na magagaling..at dahan dahan naintindihan ko kung papano. Gusto kong subukan pero 'di ko alam kung bagay ba sa akin...alanganin ako pero sinubukan ko pa rin..eto na po...pinaka-una kong matte painting. maraming salamat.

the problem is the perspectives off in directions i can barely tell.

You have an upper part that can stand to itself. and you have a second left level thats probably a few twenty meters below that confuses me as to which is your ground level. It was made to confuse even more because the most important areas (where each areas meet and converge) are often blurred by a dark mass of shadow. As for the scale which should be addressed, you have a huge mass of metal that's even bigger than the left building in itself. Which confuses my mind no matter how hard I try to believe.

Well it looks good photorealistic per element but if you aren't able to merge them and make the audience believe in their singularity - then the work ends up being one single mass of collage.

For matte - although I dont make them I just use them; I look for three critical elements.

Distance which you could fake by using fog.
Scale, by using elelments that we are all familiar with.
And drama. What is the scene all about? what is the weather? where am I standing in the scene?

I look forward to seeing an improvement.

Comment ko lang lang sir is yung lower left part ng image para sa akin does not fit well sa buong image. Siguro sa lighting lang nung part na yun and sa perspective ng image na ginamit mo, kasi based sa shadows and highlights nung main image yung parang castle light source is coming from the left side so I think yun na lang kulang,more darks siguro sa part na yun ng image perhaps? Otherwise overall magaling para sakin yung output sir especially yung upper part ng image, the rest can still be improved on in terms of making it unified with the other elements that you already have.

pinalitan ko po ng ibang version...pag gumagawa kasi ako..nagkakaroon ako ng variations...sini-save ko yon...para may options ako pagkatapos..kasi minsan nasosobrahan ko o kaya nasusunog ko yung kulay...binabalikan ko yung mga hindi masyadong sunog na version...but i know marami pang kulang 'to...ito 'yong unang version..'yong nasa taas pala..salamat po...

Here are a few thoughts... just to help you out...

Yung Foreground elements mu masyadong malaki and the perspective view is too short to convey na totoong castle yung sa likuran. It looks like a model at this point.

Yung Foreground colors are to desaturated and the building is too saturated. Dapat merong kaunting similarities sila lalo na sa highlights.

The lens flares takes too much attention.

Since first time mu to... I presume lang naman na magkakamali ka. Mattepainting is really hard to perfect... even Jeff MD knows it So good luck and I hope you post more works! Philippines needs more mattepainters!
