ATI or Nvidia?

Post by kieko on Sun Jul 11, 2010 12:25 am

hi mga master get ko ulit advise nyo..
my purpose: for CG rendering and anim., multi tasking)

my choices:
Nvidia GTX 275 896MB DDR3 448bit HDMI
or
ATI Powercolor HD5770 1GB DDR5 HDMI

as of now nkaorder na:
intel core i7 930
Asus extreme motherboard (hindi ung rampage)
8 GB Ram
1t western HDD
1000w corsair power supply
optical drive
cooler fan

kaso wala pa casing at video card,
pero may choice na ng casing..

thanks and Godbless

Usually intel-nvidia, amd-powercolor

I never had problems with Nvidia cards, naka tatlo din ata ako, but with ATI dito sa laptop ku susme ATI2DVAG INFINITE LOOP BLUESCREEN OF DEATH... not to mention parang ang trend eh towards gpu based rendering engines (CUDA, tama ba?)... and I think Nvidia is one step ahead na with regards to this... mas maganda na ang prepared...

ive used to have Nvidia cards from the Titanium to overhype fx's to my overprice EVGA signature 7900Gt tongue

but since i looked for a cheaper alternative, i've try Ati HD3870 series to HD4890 Toxic, now im using HD5770 Toxic (pansamantagal), i never looked back and looking ahead for another red card on my list.

@kieko
Nvidia 275 = raw power this card wins vs. 5770, direct competitior is Ati HD4870, but can only run Dx10, if youre still using windowsXP, this will be your card.. Cuda and PhysX, dont mind this because you will not touch this at all..

Ati5770 = if you're using Win7 already which support Dx11 and Eye Infinity if you will be using 3 or more monitors in the near future... Sapphire makes the best brand for Ati.

which card is ahead with the tech (futureproof)... the card with DX11 wins.

salamat sa mga advise masters..
i think ill go for nvidia since its much more recommended and according to my research, ATI is more on games..

thanks for this infor sir,
i have research the difference of dx10 and dx11, i think its more on the quality of the video, but since you said GTX 275 is raw power which i think i'll be needing, i think i will go with nvidia cards...the only problem is the limited stocks..hehe..

thanks ulit sir this are very important..

Thanks sa info bro. Alam ko na ang difference this time.

At may natutunan akong bago. Actually, nacuento na sa akin to ng kaibigan ko. Get 1 card now. Tapos pag may extra ka pa soon, kuha ka ulit ng isa pa. Haha! I think supported naman ng motherboard mo ang crossfire. 2 video cards, awesome power! buttrock

for ati experienced users, may i ask how ati cards perform using acad, 3dmax, skup, rhino, or any other cg softwares that involves 3d modeling?

on this part i'm really lost, on which brand has a better hand on 3d application other than games and videos.

I think kasama yan sa progress bro. May not now, Pro baka pagng-release ang 3d softwares that would require that. Usually ganun naman talaga nangyayari. Kaya din umabot na sa dx11 yan.
