Can intel i7 contain 8gb RAM?

hi po magtatanong ulit..

a gaming expert told me that i7 processors supports triple channel RAM or to be understood daw, the compatible memory must be divisible by 3..so its 1gb, 3gb, 6gb, and so on...

i had bought an intel i7 with an asus p6x series motherboard with 6 sockets of ram, now i have 3 x 2gb ram (6gb)

i am planning to buy additional 2 gb to have a total of 8, but with the information that the gaming expert told me, so this means 8gb RAM will not be compatible with an i7 processor even though i have 3 more extra RAM sockets cause its not divisible by 3?

my mabibili ka bang 2gb lang na tripple channel? i mean is my ddr3 na tripple channel na isang piraso lang mabibili mo...
karaniwan kse set na yang ram na mabibili mo...

kung my 3x2gb kana.. dapat same specs ang idadagdag mo so 3x2gb din ang mabibili mo dapat...

i think meron tingi ang bili pero not sure kung same ng ram mo ang mabibili mo so hndi maganda kung magkaiba ang specs ng ram na lalagay mo...

If you have a motherboard that supports tripple channel, installing 8gb will disable it. But it will still work, hindi na cya tripple channel. There are motherboards for corei7 that can support, I believe it will depend on the motherboard. Best to bring your cpu to your comp store and try it out.

6gb is good enough to handle big projects. Just optimize your scene.

can i ask sir..how many slots does your mother have? this is a Q for every one to answer keiko's question exactly...tnxx..

pwede naman yan 8gb basta same specs (ram timings) bale magiging dual channel siya. 4x2gb same lang yun.

6 slots sya sir.. mobo is asus p6x58d-e

anyway, if nka dual channel na sya, will that affect the performance or magkaka compatibility issue or something?

nakita ko sa net upto 24 gig pala yan hence 24 and 12 is divisible by 3. kung di ka sure why not try 12gig of ram di ba. ewan ko lang kung tama intindi ko. e push through mo na capability ng mobo mo pre since naka 6slot ka di ba.....sayang naman kung di mo ma maximized di ba?

salamat bro sa advise..yup 24gb nga max. ng board, pakonti konti mabubuo din yang 12gb na yan... i think 6gb na muna, tama ka nga ipunin ko na ung another 6gb..salamat ulit..

Tama ipunin mo nalang muna. kasi next upgrade mo should be talong 4 gigs na.

12gig ram is very enough for every work we can do... and games we want..
kahit gano kabigat yan or kahit sobrang laki

ok na kung 6x2gb ang ram mo... sa totoo lang masasayang mo lng ang ibang ram kung nka 24gig ka...
if you can find ung rig ni sir jeff sa show me your rig
24 buckets ang processor nia and 24gig ram pero hindi umaabot sa 24gig ang nagagamit nyang ram based sa work nia sa ofice nila

12 gb RAM is really enough..
my previous PC was a quad core with 4gb RAM, and ang dami ko nagawa with 4gb..but i think i reach the point where i needed more power and to push my works a little harder, specially in multi tasking..kaya po nagupgrade..

24gb, sobra na yun talaga..hehe..we dont know what will happen next..but if there is a possibility of having one with no financial pressures, why not..hehe..
