Dual Channel to Tri Channel DDR3 RAM

Hi mga master,

Tanong lang po, anu difference kung maginstall ka ng 3 sets of dual channel ram sa 2 set ng tri channel ram?

sabihin na po nating i have 2gb ddr3 installed on my mobo, then i bought another 2 sticks identical dun sa nauna, considered na ba yun as tri channel? or i have a 2x2gb ddr3 dual channel, then i installed another 2 sets of 2x2bg ddr3, bale i have 12gb, considered ba yun as trichannel?

as long as it is exactly identical (ram timings, freq)
it will automatically detect by your board if your board supporting dual & triple channel of ram.
2x2gb its dual + 1pc 2gb automatically the board will read it as a triple channel, make sure u put it in correct slot (1,3,5 alternate slot)
3x2gb its triple channel + 1pc 2gb it will be 2sets of dual channel (make sure u put it in correct slot (1,2,3,4 ram slot)

but u cannot put 5pcs of 2gb because the board cannot combine the dual & triple channel.

to make sure it is correct, if u have 2x3gb triple channel try to remove 1pc of ram and it will be 2x2 dual channel automatically (1,2 slot)
