The Vengeance Trilogy:

1. Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance

The first installment in Park’s trilogy was the 2002 film, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, a bleak and violent tale of revenge gone wrong. It tells the story of a poor deaf man who kidnaps a young girl to pay for his sister’s much-needed transplant. When the young girl accidentally dies, her bereaved father goes on a search for answers and vengeance. The film did reasonably well at the box office in South Korea and was named the best film of 2002 by film critic.

2. OLD BOY ang ganda nito grabe!

Park’s next film in the trilogy was the hugely successful 2003 film, Oldboy. It told the story of a man who is imprisoned for fifteen years and then released with no explanation as to why he was confined and released. Now he has been given five days to learn his captor's true identity and find out why he was imprisoned or his new love interest will be killed. The film was very well received at film festivals and at the box office in South Korea. It won the Grand Prix award at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival and received great reviews from critics. The film has gained a cult following in the years following its release and is seen as a classic to many.

3. Sympathy for Lady Vengeance

The third and final installment in the trilogy was the 2005 film, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (or Lady Vengeance). The film tells the tale of a young woman who is released from prison after doing hard time for a child killer who remains at large. Upon her liberation she seeks out her long lost daughter and unveils her plan for revenge against the ghastly man for whom she served time. This film was also well received by critics and South Korean audiences alike. It grossed $7,382,034 in its opening week and competed for the Golden Lion at the 62nd Venice International Film Festival in September 2005.

Meron akong air doll, pro di ko pa napanood. Pag may subs kasi, I need to focus. Usually I watch movies while working.

@korngrain: you should watch the usual suspect. ibang iba sya sa poster. Wala ngang kinalaman ang poster sa movie. Haha.

Airdoll = sex doll.. i rate this around 7/10, though the reason i watch this is because of Bae Donna (The Host and Linda, Linda, Linda)

eto recently jmovie na napanuod ko this year

20th Century Boys: Trilogy
Crow Zero 1 and 2
Linda, Linda, Linda (this is like K-on anime)
Tokyo Sonata
Departures (oscar winner for foreign for 2009)
Tampopo (1985 cult classic ramen movie, movie enthusiast must have eto, nandito si Ken Watanabe (Inception) and directed by the late great Juzo Itami)

@korngrain69
check mo Thirst, same director din ng Oldboy. one of the best vampire movie to date like Let the Right One In from sweden naman.

- Thirst
- Im A Cyborg, but that's OK
- The Good, the Bad and The Weird
- J.S.A.

thanks for sharing sir, napanood ko narin yang 20th century boys, napakaganda ng kwento. though icant compare it sa manga. kasi di ako mahilig magbasa ng manga.

ive seen narin yung thirst sir its a korean din siya. i like it too kasi iba siya sa mga vampire movies. and the actor looks like jimmy santos hehehe... siya rin ba yung actor sa the host?

ito naman recommend ko for action. hayop ang action nito napaka raw. ang galing ng mga stunt kita mo talaga yung pain sa mukha ng mga actor/actress bandera :lytsaber: its a nonstop action! with no wires(i think).
