MultiScatter Test - WIP
Hi guys, I did some test yesterday to see how powerful this plug-in is and I think this is brilliant. Here are the features that you can get from this plug-in;
Features
* Capability of creation huge amount of objects in array (hundreds of thousands and millions)
* Quick rendertime generation of objects with optimized RAM management
* Random transformations (scale, rotation) of objects in array
* Distribution of objects based on bitmaps or procedural maps
* Scaling of objects based on bitmaps or procedural maps
* Realtime viewport preview of objects placement
* Different types of viewport preview of objects
* Special procedural map the MultiScatterTexture
* 64-bit support
Differences from VRayScatter:
1. Mental Ray support (geometry and Mental Proxy)
2. Not only VrayProxy but any kind of geometry supported
3. Many objects in one Scatter
4. Probability texture for objects "clustering"
5. Multithreading support in all operations including viewports
6. Picking objects directly from a scene
7. Materials, property and animation interactively depended to scene objects.
8. "Help pictures" for new users (possible to switch off).
9. Revolutionary viewport preview mode - points.
10. Diffuse colour or wirecolor preview in viewport.
11. Collision preview in viewport.
12. Converting MultiScatter object to single mesh or instant copied objects.
13. MultiScatter utility.
Info about the image;
all objects are 3d model
render time: 20 minutes (ir & lc are precomputed in half size)
computers specs used: Q9550 @ 2.83 GHz, 8 gig RAM
image size: 2500x1625
post pro: after effects cs4 & photoshop cs4
Comments and critics are very much appreciated and discussion about the plug-in would be a great help.

Re: MultiScatter Test - WIP
I like the grass you have here, it looks very natural.
And the lighting as well.
Tutorials maybe?
TFS!

I've read somewhere that this works great with "iTrees" & the recently released "iGrass"; did you use both for this render?...

Sorry I forgot to mention, I used the plug-in to distribute the grass and trees. Sure, I'll start working on the tutorials while Im working on this project, Im not sure kasi about the building materials, baka palitan ko pa to. Any suggestions?
I'll probably start working on the landscape also, mejo bare pa kasi ngayun. One thing I've noticed in this plug-in was, it doesn't work well with vrayproxies, mas mabilis ang render time nya kung hindi mo icoconvert to vrayproxies.

Re: MultiScatter Test - WIP
I use the iTrees for my latest renders; they rock... And are really light when proxied. Have the iGrass but haven't used it yet, kinda heavy...
Haven't tried both for multiscatter though...
Where's Celes? I mentioned this to him a few days ago cause he was fiddling with vrayscatter... Yo, Celestino...

Im not really sure if Im right but proxies renders really slow if applied in MultiScatter. I did some test and it took almost 2 hours to render the proxies but it only took 15 minutes to render unproxied ones.
Yes, maybe sir Celes has idea on this. Did he use MultiScatter on his latest project? Haven't gone through that thread kasi.

hello
on topic: nice render nilo, walang kupas.
kind-of-off-topic-but-still-related: yeah tita cloud/nilo vrayscatter ang ginamit ko for our short film. pero mix - only the grass was in vrayscatter kasi ung trees we needed to be visible while rigging the animated bits. in our setup naka proxy lahat but i created our own grass blades after testing out some igrass meshes which turned out to be heavy pa rin. render time with glossies was a staggering 6+ hours per frame, after several optimizations and reducing glossies it went down to 1 hour/frame.
nga pala nilo, wanted to ask whether multiscatter can accept point caches, we were thinking if we can effectively distribute loads of animated foliage..? and if multiscatter is really much more render efficient than vrayscatter as you mentioned in fb?
