Choy's Car Design and Modeling - Updated 11/25/2010 start of concept car - 12%

Good day! This is actually my first topic in this forum. The result of my work is also a reflection of what I have learned so far just by lurking this site and because of my profession. Props to CGP gurus!

I'm modeling a '06 3series BMW. I started this project 3 months ago and work on it during my spare time. I chose this car because I'm really fascinated by bmw's simple streamlined design on their cars, and this specific model showcase it loudly.

By the way, napanood ko sa isang program sa AXN about the company who develops gran turismo. Sabi dun,about 6 months bago sila makatapos ng isang car model. Shocked Tama lang kasi mahirap pala talaga and mabusisi, detalyado dapat. Pangarap ko din magwork dun sa GT, super ganda ng facilities.

I will update this thread as regularly as I can. I will do a self-designed, modified version after I'm done modeling this stock one.

Ito yung topology ko for the first week. Medyo sablay, halos inulit ko din lahat.


Designed and modeled my own wheels for the stock version. Deep dish offset! Yeah!





Attention to details. Labels(JWL and VIA) and tire valve.


With my Advan AD09 concept. Very Happy

Oh and paturo nadin kung pano ginagawa ang ganito. Yung rendered wire frame I mean. Is their a tutorial for this? May idea ako kung pano ginagawa pero baka may mas magandang way kayo. Thanks gurus!

about sa dyan sa image sir, 2 sets of renders yan... beauty pass + wires... then merge ko lang sa PS... using gradient mask...

Render mo ba yun?nice rendering san ka kumukuha ng blueprint dude oo tama ka it takes time talaga to complete the details wait namin to modify mo na din konte lagyan mo pakpak hehe.

Most of the parts bine-base ko nalang sa reference pics. basically ang makokopya lang talaga sa blueprint ay ang body and other visible exterior parts.

Started to define the lines. Still looks crappy.

Medyo matagal na proseso ang pag define ng lines kaya I decided to do the muffler first para di magsawa.
Slapped on some medium sized quad muffs.

In defining lines, use edge extrude with 0 height and 0.002 extrusion base width or
use chamfer can also be used

I found a walk-through on how to model a disc brake(front) so here it is.
I also modeled a rear disc brake but unfortunately, di ako naka save ng
pic sa sobrang excited maka-render. hehe


wishful thinking of having my own brand, hehe "choy's"

Staggered rims. wheels in the back are much wider. deep dish.



bitin ako sa look ng stock bumps. it has a missing ingredient. yes, a lip/chin! designed my own.
it was my first body mod. linagay ko nadin yung rims and tires.
