how to "POSE" or change the pose of 3D PEOPLE

mga bossing... i manged to extract 3D peeps from a game... the problem is hindi na gumagana yung helpers, skeleton, bipped, or what ever you call that after ko ma convert sa max file... pano kaya mabago pose nito?

i tried merging it with some 3d peeps na may skeleton... pero hindi ko masyado pa din macontrol yung pose eh... help naman po!!!
