theres a lot of ways, here is one - polyediting

1. plane - say 10m(W) x 20 m(L)
2. segments 20 (W) x 40 (L)
3. convert to poly, vertex selection
4. activate soft selection, falloff = 15m, pinch = .8. locate your apex point, pull it upward
5. select 4, corner vertex, plus the left and right middle vertex
6. on top viewport scale, use uniform scale. scale it outward,
7. while still selected, go to left / front view pull it downward, then unselect vertex
8. on top view, select left and right middle vertex, plus top and bottom middle vertex
9. use uniform scale. scale it outward.
10. select again the apex vertex and move it where you want to point it......done
