Creating Pillow in Sketch Up (updated)

I want to share here a simple method on how to create your own pillows

1. So first let us create a plane, dimension varies to the pillow size you prefered



2. Then create an arc across on each corner, delete the inner surface



3. On top viewport, ( make it in parallel projection), with freehand tool, create a polycurveline on the side. Create one and copy it later. Or if you need some little variation, create one on each side ( top and side) then mirrored it later. Rotate each poly curve line, make it in vertical position.



4. Now copy it for the remaining side, completing the perimeter



5. Select now the polycurve line and the paralled side of the pillow, go to Sandbox toolbar and select From Scratch.
Do it on the remaing edges. Once completed, do it for the arc also.



6. Go to the side viewport, copy the pillow body. Paste it, mirrored or flip then attache it to the main pillow



7. And here is now the initial result.



8. Let us now make some pillow brims. select all surface and hide it, exposing only
the main raffles line and the pillow line



9. Create a small circle ( enough for the size of the brims) position it on the raffles edge and one
on the pillow edge. Extrude it with Follow me tool.



10. And now the finish pillow



11. Add textures and materials.

hope i can.
for materials, as long as you are familiar with tiling and its parameters you are good to go. nothing so special, just have time to explore it one by one. for rendering setup - i think sir nomer have this one already on our tutorials thread.
