For me right now basta quad core and 4 gig ram enough na yun for rendering, sketchup, etc. its up to you how you will you optimize your scene when doing your projects.

Hi, It can run 3dsmax and sketchup, when it comes to 3dsmax rendering its 30% slower than icore 920. Its best to buy the sandybridge versions, they are faster than icore 920 on laptop body.

There's a rumor of sandybridge coming to macbooks next month

With macbooks you get mac and windows, its like buying 2 notebooks.

Pasali...

Always check intel processor's specifications about clock speed specially the Max turbo frequency. Para makahelp mag-decide kung anong computer spec. and bibilhin (budget wise).

i7-720QM 1.6 can go up to 2.8 max turbo frequency (which is enough speed for rendering process) check here http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=43122

comparison with i7 920 here; http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=37147

4 gig mem is good enough, also watch out for the bus speed (must be at least 1333 MHz. if there is coz more is better)

to sum it up the above mentioned spec is probably one of the best for rendering

running i7-720qm at 2.8max turbo frequency does not mean all 4 cores are running full 2.8ghz, if all 4 cores are running full speed its only 1.6ghz.

Its not the same per spec as a desktop cpu like icore 720 with a clock speed of 2.66 on all 4 cores, and max of 2.9ghz at turbo. that is why its 30% slower, this is based on actual scenes I have rendered on these cpus Very Happy

sir ryds, with i7 cpu, try buying a m15x instead, last time HP
Pavilion/Compaq din lappy ko, masyadong maiinit lang yung keyboard area
pag naka on full time.

right now, 10% lesser na yung price nang alienware compared nung first release nila with a higher/latest specs. and most gaming laptops has a well configured heat sink for cpu and vga

my contact din ako na shop sa funan where they can give you lots of freebies in every purchase. Very Happy
