yeah agree lalo na kung huelar virus ang tumama sayo naku reformat katapat nun Sad

anyway ill suggest na SHOW ALL HIDDEN FILES and SHOW EXTENSION FILES...since marami virus nag hihide ng mga true folders nyo..they hide them then create another folder same as the one pero once you clicked/open that folder a virus multiplication is activated..why show extension files?kasi lahat ng folder na gawa ng virus eh magkakaroon ng extension file na exe..so pag nakakita na kau ng folder na meron extension file na .exe delete them kagad..

this is the first time i heard about that software... but this topic rings a bell!
i just recall when we had an infected flashdrive that tried breaking in
both my poor PC with norton and then my mom's netbook with avira
[jesus] taob ung norton. the virus prevented all access to all my data.
avira wins the battle every time in our case. so we switched.

now, also use deepfreeze and i freezed drive c [OS] most of the time.
and then i left the other drives where i store my other files, thaw...

in case your PC or lappy get infected the frozen drives will restore itself [clean slate PC]
less all the accumulated virus + registry once you restart. so PC booster of sort as well
but you have to sort of map some of folder to thawed drives for example drive d or external
or else it'll be gone with the wind the moment you shut down.

the archangel/comp tech who loves to DL a lot stuff and who introduce that to me
says that since using that for the last five years, he hasnt reformatted his PC ever
due to any virus or malwares or whatever...

[tho you got apprentice title] you sound like the expert in PC stuff, anyway...
i wonder...did your lappy ever got infected? if so, i wonder what you did to fix it.
and are we allowed here to disclose some of your "favorite" download torrent sites?
coz since i got infected PC due to torrents, i sort of develop a trauma hearing "torrent."

i also recall one of the important reminders he wanted me to realize as well
pointing out the practice of safe surfing... he never used anything but AVG
he just stressed that no matter how great the anti-whatevz you got installed
when one remains a naive user and visit all places prone maging "pugad ng virus"
he'll have a great chance of screwing up everything every once in a while.

Title is only given by the org according on how well you perform here(site) . You'll be surprised how many senior(newbie status) that are willing to help and share their knowledge. Anyways, before anything else i am not an expert on these stuff it just happened that i knew a few or got lucky on the process. Infected!? Yes lots of worms and trojan. I just let my program detect and fix them. Except for desktop.ini. So far i never had any problem(reformats) or just get lucky even thought i always visit torrent sites.

Are we allowed here to disclose some of your "favorite" download torrent sites? Discussion on torrents is ok as long as its legal sharing... Im not sure and.. just to be safe also:scratch: . Very Happy

Safe surfing? Never heard of it or just plain impossible for me hehehe. One more thing just disable any pop-ups sometimes they get ugly.. .

ahhh i see.... can't help it.... lol for the safe surfing impossibility...
[hmmm] if only you knew what examples he gave - oh, forget it lol

your answer to the torrents sites still sounds to me like a cliffhanger...
i'll just dig in the cgp baul for some useful ones your might have dropped.

surprised by the cgp good saritans? hmmmm.......[couldnt say more]
tell you what, my head feels like ready to explode any time soon...
with every bit of CG words of wisdom and kick of pinoy humor. man!
got hooked more than i've imagined i will... [somewhat outrageous]

for all the help, you guys make us feel immensely blessed, too!

lukdoberder wrote:thanks for the info!ill try both of them. tongue...regarding the antivirus, im using eset right now and im happy with it.di siya istorbo at wala masyadong ekek hehe!

hope you didnt mean installing and running both at the same time.
as far as i know, doing that will surely slow the computing time...

if you feel quite intimidated to tweak things / system setup like i am
i think you'll find TuneUp Maintenance and Utilities + their user-friendly manuals
that you could download over the holy mother of search engines - google
it's like your in-house PC doctor / first-aid just when the going gets tough
you could also optimize the way it scans at the background like scheds...
anyway, they all explain it there, [basics] in case you find it mind-boggling
aside from spywares or malwares...

but he also said, it would be nice if you start clean slate, reformat everything
then secure new "defense" coz there'd be times that your PC will get "immune"
as per mr. technician. it's like AV "knows the virus strains" still resides and hides
in the nooks and crany of the registry but AV couldnt care less. [heaven knows]

i heard windows 7 has gotten more secure. maybe that's one reason my mum
didnt get the virus - she had it. i dont. [deepfreeze doesnt work with win7].

btw, the laptop of sir edosayla [seen from tutorials] zooms at the speed of light!
i thought mine's normal taking about 5, 6, 7, 8 commercials before 3dmax opens up.

gee...could really relate to this thread lol - top 1 hassle kasi eh... [ARG] Smile
