LIGHTING: Ambient Lighting in Vray As An Alternative to GI and Dome Lighting
First topic message reminder :
As I take a semi-permanent retirement from pushing pixels, I had lots of time lately to think and experiment - I was finally able to try out other production techniques. Vray's Ambient light one of them and was quite happy of the outcome.
I'd like to use this space to delve into this lighting technique which is more shader based, pretty similar to using Vray Dome Light but a lot faster. Not as precise as Global Illumination but flicker-free. Who uses GI for features and big format animations anyways?
I'll post the quick tutorial here in a few days. Stay put.
Glad to be here again!
UPDATE: August 24, 2011
I'm sorry for the delay, We'll akala ko makakaretire na ako permanently - hindi pa pala...
I've been tucked down under deadlines, Here's the Commercial I did in the states a few months back using Ambient Lighting which I'll discuss as soon as I am done with my freelance work. Kudos to the wonderful guys at BP in LA and to the rest of the CG team.
