Re: KARIKATYUR (Updated)
Ok here is the pictorial presentation of the above swf flip book tutorial.
The model was my co-instructor in COMSOFIL.
1. Preparation of the Drawing
Document sizing and resolution

2. Paste / drag to paste your model on the drawing, adjust brightness and contrast if necessary

3. With eraser tool, erase all the background

4. Create a new layer, in my case i named it as outline, on color pallette, select black for the foreground and white for the background. With brush tool (use just the basic brush), size around 7-9px, trace your model including all those dominant features

5. Finish tracing the necessary area ( as shown on my images), triplicate the original model layer. Named it if you wish. Outline layer should stay on top.

6. Select the second layer ( duplicated layer of the original), go to filter. On the list, select sketch and under sketch select Graphic pen. Adjust light and dark balance. It should not be more dark, just enough to show the shadow of the profile. This varies on the image brightness and contrast.

7. Do the same thing with the third layer. Filter Gallery -->>Artistic -->> Rough Pastels

8. Now let us blend the layers. Select again the second layer, go to Blending Mode and select Hard Light...(sometimes overlay works best on this) then adjust opacity if necessary

9. Do the same thing for the third layer. But in here select Screen Filter, you may select other modes, just try some until your images looks cartoony.

10. This is another steps you can do with the use of plugins called SNAP ART 2. Link here: Snap Art . Instead of using the filter gallery, you can use the pluginns.

11. Now you need a body for your caricature, some practice will do. if not Follow procedure on Karikatyur-Caricature for Non-Cartooinst video on the next thread reply (its just below)

12. So in here i created some lineworks creating my characters attitude or activities or works. Do it in a new layer

13. Then accessorize....

14. Put some volume (clothings, etch)

15. Clean unnecessary lines.

16. Add some muscle to the figure

17. Add some props

18. Colorize

19. Enhance

20. Add background. And now the finish product

At Philippine Embassy (Riyadh)

Good Luck and Enjoy!!! Just for fun.
