@arkiedmund: the album was "We Stand Alone Together" ng Bamboo 2007, cover album sya and hit single nila yung tatsulok then sumunod yung So Far Away..
anyway back to the topic, pinadefer na ni Sen Lacson yung SB bill, it's a good news for now because we'll also be watching the SB2109 of senator escudero
here's the link

off-topic:
I still have the tape kept in my drawer.
And yes that bamboo album where the cover of Tatsulok can be found is called "we stand alone together". Not a bamboo fan though. But i do appreciate their music, wala nga akong copy ng cd's even the rivermaya bamboo era, wala din. The music is nice, it's just that i never was really into bamboo even during the rivermaya days. I started liking rivermaya, when rico took over the vocal duties.
I've seen his backing band jamming in puerto galera years ago. Ayos naman, but ira cruz(passage, introvoys, bamboo, kapatid) is not as flexible as sir noel mendez(passage, and session musician extra-ordinaire), IMHO, and karel honasan(barbie's cradle, YOSHA) is a better bass player based on what i've been seeing, as for the drummer, nagkaroon sila ng hidwaan dati ni mike alba, ok din si vic mercado, pero mas malupit sa di pagbibilang yung drummer ng kitchen sync from baguio, sabi pa nga ng ilan, overrated masyado ang bamboo. But to his credit, he sings way better than rico. And most of the rivermaya hits were written by rico blanco.
Nathan and ira has a new band now, called HIJO, together with junjie lerma of radioactive sago project, who is a very good guitar player. And azarcon's music is more non-mainstream so to speak, more jazz in a way, and i kinda dig the songs.
yung so far away naman ay isang original ni carole king, and may rod stewart version din ito....
Hope clear na sa yo lahat.
Back to topic:
That's good news, at least there is hope, let's see what happens next. And let's hope something good and beneficial to both parties will come about from this action. Babasahin ko mamaya yung bill ni senator lacson. Sa ngayon, matutulog muna ako.

SENATE '-J ',:/ "1 { i l
Senate Bill No. {., , { I . ! I
Introduced by SENATOR PANFILO M, LACSON
EXPLANATORY NOTE
.:~!?l1l,ltt'
tc)HJ:t \ I f HIP. ~rf\'l"bfY
'11 MAR 31 P5:05
The Civil Engineering Law, Republic Act No. 544, which governs the practice of civil
engineering in the Philippines, was last amended 55 years ago.
Since then, the number of registered civil engineers has grown to over 90,000 today. A
new role for the civil engineer has likewise evolved in the light of globalization and cross- border
practice. Whereas before the civil engineer was confined to the application of technical
knowledge and skills in the successful implementation and completion of projects, the civil
engineer is now conti'onted with a broader range of issues to deal with. The civil engineer now
has to face the challenges of integrating the socio-economic and environmental issues with the
technical aspects of the construction projects. The civil engineer is constantly challenged to
design and build developments in a manner that is environmentally sound, socially acceptable,
and globally competitive.
This Bill, therefore, seeks to achieve the following objectives:
1. To attune the law to the needs for national development;
2. To strengthen the profession and enable the civil engineers to cope with the formidable
challenges brought about by globalization and cross-border practice;
3. To continually upgrade the level of competence of the civil engineers through:
a. peer recognition of specialization in civil engineering,
b. continuing professional development, and
c. strengthening of the accredited professional organization of civil engineers;
4. To define more clearly the practice of civil engineering in the Philippines by foreign
nationals;
5. To promote the growth of the consulting sector by making it cognizant of the
international philosophy of multi-disciplinary consultancy services;
6. To remove a provision that makes contracting of multi-disciplinary consultancy
services unnecessarily difficult, complicated and impracticable and which now
adversely affects the infrastructure of the government to the extent that work and
payment to contracted parties on projects are suspended; and
7. To make the law better serve and safeguard public interest by establishing a clear,
precise and practicable delineation of professional and corporate contractual
accountability in the civil engineering practice. In view of the foregoing, the immediate passage of this Bill is earnestly sought.

1. To attune the law to the needs for national development;
2. To strengthen the profession and enable the civil engineers to cope with the formidable
challenges brought about by globalization and cross-border practice;
3. To continually upgrade the level of competence of the civil engineers through:
a. peer recognition of specialization in civil engineering,
b. continuing professional development, and
c. strengthening of the accredited professional organization of civil engineers;
4. To define more clearly the practice of civil engineering in the Philippines by foreign
nationals;
5. To promote the growth of the consulting sector by making it cognizant of the
international philosophy of multi-disciplinary consultancy services;

Re: Civil Engineers to Practice Architecture
Architectural drawings is for Architect, Structural drawings is for Civil Engineers the Architect has a broader mind when it regards on signing and sealing Architectural design and documents compared to C.E's that has no design subject and no design topics included on their board exams, so that this is not fair for the Architects that has studied on 5 years with 2 years of apprenticeship before taking the board exam..Hope that our law will carefully think on what is right, unless if they let the C.E's to approve their law on signing architectural documents, it will downgrade the Architecture profession in our country..

Re: Civil Engineers to Practice Architecture
We should know that this is not only a battle of UAP alone but its the Coucil of Architecture Profession, Thanks to UAP, PIA, BOA for all the effort to unites all Architecture groups first to make a stronger bond through the council. Let us be fair we knew that its not the Civil Engineers who initiate the sudden revision of this Law which favor them co-equal right in signing and sealing architectural plans. I have a lot of Civil Engineer friends who shared sentiment with us. According to them they are train to design structure to stand and its their duty, Architectural design is for Architects and Structural Design is for Civil Engineer and Structural Engineer, plain and simple its the greediness of the PICE official, according to PIA President the only way to compete is to strengthened our curriculum in architecture after-all clients will consult architect based on their performance and credibility of an Architect if you are good its your credit. Based on the report PICE are adding architectural units to their curriculum to support the bills, I'm sure this will be a big blow were most CE student hated ARKI subjects but the truth is the PICE are doing full effort to win this battle compared to UAP officials. If they only do their homework it will not reached this far, but anyway thanks a lot with this the council of ARCHITECTURE PROFESSION, UAP, PIA & BOA step by step we will reach our goal. Lets pray and hope that all the senators involved in this bill will be fair enough. By the way its really hard to win a battle of Technicalities and Number without a proper plan. Kaso talo tayo don mas marami sila, Ika nga kung gaano ka meticulous and pag-gawa nag plano ganon din dapat ang gawin ng Council of Architecture Profession !!! Good Luck!!
