PUT YOUR VRAY SKETCHUP TIP AND TRICKS HERE.

Post by nomeradona on Wed Jan 21, 2009 3:00 am

First topic message reminder :

I realized ang dami pala nating mga experience or small tricks in using Vray Sketchup.. I am starting a post here to share these tips and tricks.. so mga VRAY SU users share nyo sa inyo.

1. Avoiding Color bleed trick.
VraySkethup has no Vray overidde material in correcting color bleeding. this is how you avoid it.

- Render your scene with IR (ist engine) and LC (second engine) you have to disable texture maps. Hit render. Once IR and LC has been calculated, stop rendering and saved the maps.
- Reload the saved IR and LC calcualtions.
- This time hit render again and enable texture maps.

2. Automatic Displacement

- Group the face you want to displace.

3. Using Normal Maps as Bump maps

- If you want a nice bump map, Normal maps works better than bump map. If you want to create a normal map. Download a photoshop Plugin - Nvidia...

yun klang muna.. isip pa tayo.

bale yung shadows infront of the exterior model, say, may trees infront of the bldg. and will cast shadows to the road stretchng towards the bldg. i believe uve seen "free agent" did to his ENGLISH EXTERIOR in asgvis forum. i tried asking him about his technique but no answer Smile i did a little experiment from "teofas" clipmapping procedure...to share it,here it goes;

1. tree files = .tiff, .jpeg file of colored and alpha image
2. import tree image to su, explode it and group it.
3. from material editor add vraylinked material - image (for 1.00 vfsu) for 1.05 vfsu, it will automatically add
4. now,in diffuse rollout we can see TRANSPARENCY SLOT, click "M" put the the alpha image of the tree file
check 'invert alpha' den ok.
5. lastly, in maps rollout, click "background" then click "M" put again the alpha image, check 'invert alpha' den
clicK OK. RENDER.....

BE SURE to put ON shadows in su so that u will see the projection of the shadows...

Sir nomer i believe ur familiar with this but the thing is, "dalomar" trimmed down these process, nag introduce cya ng isang technique of which dko naintndhan...any advise? Rolling Eyes

Transparency mapping gnawa nyo sir, pero ung iba gnagamit 3dmodels dn, pero ayos dn ito. alternative... also, same concept sa clipmapping... ganito lng dn ginagawa ko just to have shadows of trees on the road in front of bldg...

ok yung kay free agnet actually 3d model ang ginagamit nya hindi transparency map or clipmap. i will advice the same instead of clipmap.

or what you can do is to use a map sa plane lang. then gumamit ka ng freehand tool to remove those edges ( a bit tedious but effective) so yung halaman nalang ang natira.

pinakamaganda parin kung 3d trees ang gamitin mo sa likod ng camera.

sa photoshop dali lang bro. marmaing approaches pero ang pnakano talga is how to have plants with nice contrast between background at trees. so sa photoshop pwede kang gumait nalang ng magic wand. o di kaya ay select color range.

kapag naselect mo na. choose another layer and paint white sa positive image (tree) at black sa negative. yun na ang isave mo as alpha/clipmap

kung irradiance engine ang gamit mo usually naglilight leak kapag mababa min at max nya... so taasan mo lang one step at at time muna. i think yung -2,0 ok na yun.

why not try dmc (qmc sa lumang version). mas matagal ang calculation syempre pero no light leaks. also frown sa noise. so dapt babaan mo noise naman to correct it which will lead eventually to longer render time.

in terms of fast calc. i will go with higher min max sa irradiance map na lang. and at the same time i save ang mga nacalculate mo at ireload mo nalang uli. para next time hindi mo na sya i cacalculate.
