Any mac users in the forum

I've been thinking of getting a macbook pro. My current laptop is quite heavy at 2.6kgs, while a core i5 macbook pro, just weights in at about 2.04kgs.

Some questions:

1. Has anyone ever tried running windows based apps such as 3ds max and autocad on a mac via windows running via boot camp?

2. If yes, how is the performance of the machine while running aforementioned applications.

Your insight or opinion, will be of great help to me.

Natry ko na bro. I noticed that half lang ang battery life ng mac while running windows and apps.

I suggest, get an i7. cheaper and faster. Sa singapore, asus cost only 40k. cheapest dito sa atin is 57k. lenovo and hp.

macbook if you're into photoshop and video editing. Kung sketchup, ok lang, kasi may sketchup for mac. mac's still best using it's native os.

Macbook bro kung gusto mong pumorma.

Napansin ko na manipis yung macbook, as compared to some of the other laptops that i see in the market. Just searched the net and found that a sony vaio S series laptop weights only at 1.58kgs, pero, ok kaya performance nito?

May nakita kasi akong benta online, 2nd hand and the price point is the same as my current laptop, which is an msi cx-420 core i5 model. Pati specs nila pareho eh...kaya napapa-isip, kasi para na akong magkaka scoliosis sa laptop ko.

Anyway, i will consider your opinion, before i let go of the one that i have here. Still researching further also.

Any comments or suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Wow mac! ako im thinking between a laptop or a tablet, pero lista ko muna pros and cons, masyadong mabigat kasi laptop, i will use it lang naman for presentations like pdf plans, photos, perspectives,

i am a mac user but dont expect that it will run fast on a mac laptops. if you really want the best for the macs get the mac pro 8 or 12 core for high performance.

Hindi magandang option ang msi bro. mabilis uminit. Go for asus or lenovo. Asus has a technology na hindi umiinit ang surface.

Check this from villman for your reference. average weight is 2.4kgs. 2.2kgs ang lenovo i7. and these are way cheaper than a macbook pro.

For your purpose, I suggest you should! Ginagamit talaga ng mga production houses ang mac. Lalo na yung mga 8 and 12 cores. Kasing mahal lang ng macbook pro mga yun.

Thanks sa iyong opinion...core i5 lang hanap ko. Nag-ikot ako kahapon, and am now deciding kung mac or sony vaio S series ang kukunin ko, yung timbang ang habol ko, para naman di ako mahirapan bitbitin.

Sa ngayon, bukod sa walang budget para mag i7, eh, wala din naman akong mga rendering jobs kaya, stick na muna ako sa lower bracket ng mga processors. In fact quad core pa rin ang desktop ko. And i guess unless wala talaga akong mga render jobs, i'll be sticking with my humble quad for the meantime.

Pero balik tayo sa topic....i've read about boot camp, pero medyo vague pa rin sa akin kung paano ang mechanics ng mac system sa pag-papatakbo ng windows OS sa makina nila.

actually sa akin ginawa ko talagang windows ang Macpro ko bro... pwede naman eh. Boot cam kung gusto mo parehas

na OS mo naka install (windows and Mac). Ang reason ko naman kaya ako nag pure windows sa Mac kasi nun hindi pa pwede ang graphics

card NVIDIA QUAD ko sa Mac pero ang alam ko meron na ngayon nabibili na for Mac kaya plano ko bumili para pwede ako

mag boot cam. Kung mag i5 ka naman mura lalo dito sa UAE, about 25K may Samsung i5 1Gb graphics na para kay misis

ok na di ba? may libre pang HD cam at hp printer. Magaan din bro tulad ng gusto mo.

yung dati kong laptop was an msi cx420, maganda siya, nice performance, mabigat lang talaga, di pwedeng bitbitin para madala sa site at makapagtrabaho din dun.

Thus my search for a lightweight laptop, and it just so happened that ultraportables with speedy processors are now available.

Which of the 3 would you guys choose? For me, the weight and the graphics card matters, since i'll be using it for light 3ds max modeling works.

Your opinions will be of help to me. I am getting a new unit this week.
