Problem importing footage in after effects

Good day mga effects masters, I have a avi file to import sa AEcs4 pero error po on importing" the file maybe in unsupported file format". i tried to convert it to mov file pero ganun parin pero nung previuos na ginawa ko naimport ko yung avi file. Mga master ano kaya ang problem? i heard about codec but no idea about it. my movie file is from my camera and i want to edit it a little bit. any idea po to get around this peroblem? my considiration po ba sa codec or sa bigat ng file? CS4 does not support much of the codecs from canon specially the newer camera builds.

To import them, it has to be converted to something CS4 will recognize.

Try Premiere of if all fails, go SUPER (google it)

Once converted, import to CS4 again.

Try mo po mag install ng complete codec sa pc, pag hindi parin gumana at nag error parin.. hanap ka ng plugins for cs4 try mo po bro. Sana makatulong gamit ko po kasi Cs5
