Command: _-VIEW Enter an option
[?/Delete/Orthographic/Restore/Save/sEttings/Window]: _SWISO

_SWISO - for south west
_SEISO - for south east
_NWISO - for northwest
_NEISO - for north east

no need to explode, after isometric use command Flatshot see here:
http://www.cgpinoy.org/t20046-autocad-3d-solid-to-2d-outline-part-2

for View, you can activate viewtoolbar, just right click on any toolbar, select ACAD, then select View Toolbar. there's an icon there for isometric view.
