granite countertops

Post by korngrain69 on Fri Jan 20, 2012 9:38 am

mga sir, ok lang po ba na sa wood framing nalang ipatung yung granite (for kitchen countertop ) or do i need to put a plywood pa para patungan nya, the counter is an L-shape. i am planning to put 1x2 framing/support para doon nalang ipatong or idikit yung granite. any comments or suggestion would be nice. i know this is simple, but i just want to make sure. thanks ulit!

As much as possible, dito ko ibubuhos ang pera. Lalo na kung de kalidad na material ang gagamitin. Might as well use concrete and tile kung titipirin mo talaga.

i suggest sir gawin mo nlang concrete yung patungan ng granite kahit 2" lang ang kapal tapos lagyan mo ng bars 10mm or 9mm, mas sigurado ito, hindi naman ganun kalaki yung cost nito,

better use angle steel bar for perimeter support & flat bar on joints... use epoxy as adhesive (use aluminum as substitute material for steel)

tagal na ko sa interior design works, whatever ang material under a countertop as long as matibay sya, but one thing to note is yung total thickness nya baka hindi mo na malgyan yan ng mixer, may max depth allowable lang ang mga mixer fixtures, and to add one moe thing make sure na may enough space ang mixer from the wall baka hindi na rin ma-install ito kung hindi tatawanan ka ng tubero.
