help on light leaks?

Post by jen_tol84 on Fri Jan 20, 2012 11:24 am

Hello cgp!
I often encounter this problem on lighting.
Thanks in advance!

babaan mo ang shadow bias ng ilaw from 0.2 to 0.002.

I also tried changing the material to vray override matl and even shifting my camera and sun position gaya ng nasearch ko sa web pero ayaw parin.
Then I found out, through trial and error, that by changing the vray Irradiance map current preset from 'very low' to 'medium' or 'high' the light leak is solved.. Pero tumagal kasi konti rendering time ko. Smile

try this approach, and experiment with low settings.

just a hunch

it just means try modelling 1 solid mesh for the wall and awning.

Sir ginawa ko nang 80 40 pero ayaw padin..
By trial and error ulit, nalaman ko na pag binago ko yong ibang values ng basic parameters ng current preset e nawawala yong light leak (see below), and halos pareho lang render time ko sa 'very low' na setting (a minute difference).

Thanks.

Wow this one works! Even in a 'very low setting'. Since I'm modelling in revit, I did this by hitting 'join geometry' in revit and updating my scene in 3dmax, hit render and the leak is gone. Thanks Sir!

ah I see. so it's a bug pala from a revit model. I think that's it. Thanks for sharing this. This is a good reference for future revit to 3ds exports. 2thumbsup

light leaks are cause by poor light cache solution, pag artifacts sa irradiance map .
