QUICK REFLECTION WITHOUT VRAY LINK MATL

Post by archfsm on Fri Feb 06, 2009 1:29 am

helo po sa mga followers ng SU dito sa CGPINOY
just saw dis site frm sir Nomer's link back at ASGVIS.

anyway: una sa lahat- hat's off to sir Nomer for all the tips & tricks. salamat po ng marami!

i just want to share this trick when your using vray & su in rendering your images.

if you need to get quick reflections rendered in vray without having to do vray-link-mat, all you have to do is lessen the sketchup opacity ng material ng object na gusto nyong magkaroon ng reflection sa render-output ng vray ( say between 95-98 opacity )

very useful ito sa mga rendering scenes na maraming minor 3d objects na kailangan ng reflection, but not necessarily i-vray-link matl, dahil it takes time to do it. ( i.e. several cars on a parking lot in front of a commercial building )

i want to show a sample output ( kaso di ko alam paano mag-paste ng image ). so give it a try.

cheers!

sir nomer, yah it's really a neat trick...very useful in applying those minor 3d objects that needs reflection...another application would be: metal or steel grilles or fences, you just edit the colors in SU, then reduce opacity to create reflection in vray render.

sori, di ko pa alam paano mag-attach ng image like on your post.( i'd like to attach the samples i did ) paano ba mag-attach?

gumamit ka ng image hosting sites like www.photobucket.com , then upload mo dun yung mga images mo. kapag naupload na all you have to do is copy the IMG code then paste it here. kumbaga Ctrl+V and Ctrl +C lang... enjoy

Here's a sample render ( with SU material at 100 opacity for the car body and lightpost )
SU-mat 100 opacity" alt="" />

Here's a sample render ( with SU material at 98 opacity for the car body and lightpost )
You can see here the car and lightpost has reflective properties
SU-mat 98 opacity" alt="" />

you can see here how it saves time not to apply vray-linked materials to these models when they are placed on a scene, lalo na kapag maramihan ( as i said, like in a parking lot )

Here's what i mean when applying this trick:

actually, accidental lang na-discover yan. pwede rin i-apply sa floors, countertops, etc. so i hope makatulong ito sa inyo in saving time. pero di ko sure kun ok ito sa latest version ng VR.

eto di ko po alam kung may nakakaalam n nito!....
kung my poduim kayo tapos mg vray ung sketchup nyo!..
