Who among you uses LWF when doing CG renderings?

sir try this GAMMA CORRECTION
1
.4545
1
yan ang ilagay mo sa input mas mabilis. kasi u are using gamma 2.2 ryt?

yup..sige sir, try ko.. and you're right about "it's just a gamma" hehe.. and one thing, nanibago ako sa adjustments ko ng reflections.. thanks!

oo dapat naka vray frame buffer ka.. kasi vray ang render engine mo.. huwag mo gamitin yung sa max na render frame.. mas mabilis sa LWF pero kunti lng kasi you dont need to much intensity sa light correct me if im wrong..

Re: LWF Poll
Dont forget when using this technique as it was mention sa link na binigay ko, dapat naka gamma 2.2 ka sa color mapping den tick mo ang Don’t affect colours (adaption only). Ang advantage nito is that the Gamma 2.2 will not be burnt in to the final image, you will get better noise samples as it is sampling a brighter image.
As for materials, advice ko lng when using evermotion try to adjust their colors but for maps it's ok, only for normal map you will have some problem, adjust mo lng. hope it helps.. additional din when saving, save it with 2.2 gamma..

cloud20 wrote:there is an aversis method... what do the pros have to say about it?...
sir cloud, base on my exp, using LWF ung kay aversis ung pinakamadaling gamitin. I made a tests using diff methods in the internet. ung kay alex, aversis saka ung kay guthrie ba yun? ung kay AVERSIS no need na i-click ung sRGB button para lang maging light ung scene... sa color mapping lang sila nagkakatalo.
ito ung kay aversis:
sa color mapping I use GAMMA CORRECTION... input 1, .4545, 1. u notice where the hell i get this .4545. bcoz in realtime we see color in linear space which is the value of 1, sa monitor natin theres a change of output of colors so we needed to degamma it there is a computation regarding on it which is the .4545 given na yan as the degamma para maalter ung darkness sa scene. so hindi na kailangan iclick pa ung sRGB button para lang maging light ung scene or save it as tif or exr file. u can directly save it as any file u want. kung ano ung nasa vfb un na rin ung output talaga. anyways, naging curious din ako dito kaya i made these tests.
PS. here's my settings sa GAMMA and LUT SETTINGS
GAMMA =2.2
INPUT=2.2
OUTPUT=1, No need to make it 2.2 coz it will double the degamma method
tick affect colors and materials
tick clamp colors and affect background
(no need to override gamma in your materials just use default gamma settings and thats it.... pagpasensyahan nyo na to sir cloud if hindi to tama. but ito ung kay aversis...wala naman masama if i-try.

Re: LWF Poll
there are many interpretations of LWF on the internet.. follow each step as long u dont get over exposed, washout or burnout images you're on the right track..
But for a good cg artist it does not end on the final render output using LWF, you will still have to adjust each aspects from lighting, reflection, refractions to shadows, brightness, contrast, exposure, saturation, color correction & gamma in post production..

Re: LWF Poll
Thanks for the heads up sir princedaguz13; though medyo matagal na yang query ko na yan & by now I've gone through the whole gamut of LWF-gamma stuff in the net. I've tried the aversis method & it's absolutely one of the "real" LWF-gamma methods. But like I've said, its just one. There's a multitude. I myself just use Reinhard & tick the gamma on that group at 1.5 to 2.2, depending on the scene. I don't fuss with max native gamma anymore, or of material gamma, etc. Though I've noticed that some LWF-gamma renders render a lot faster than the regular set, so its really worth looking into for those who haven't tried it..
In the end its all about preference. Some like the whole LWF-gamma thing, some do without it..
Thanks ulit for taking the time sir..

-question lang po? what if po kung di ako gumamit ng LWF sa isa kung work then gusto kong gamitin ito para ma test yung result ng LWF.,papalitan ko lang ba yung sa settings na nabanggit dito sa thread or start from the scratch para makuha yung effect?.salamat po.
