-Sir Zyl, hindi pwedeng gawing low version ang isang max files....unless i-convert mong 3ds lahat ng files mo.....

-Acen, try mo i-transfer ng "archive" then i-arrange mo ulit yung location ng mga materials / maps again...

I'm not sure if you were referring to some other method of lowering the version of a 3dsmax file, there is actually an option to save it down to a lower version..
Here's an entry from the online docs.

@acen: Are you encountering any sort of errors whenever opening your file? Smile

Hmm.. that is odd.. I haven't encountered that kind of problem before..

Here are a few more suggestions..
1. Check and see if your scene file is using 3ds party plugins. (although it should pop-up a "Missing Plugin" error).
2. Open your file in a different computer (not your OWN computer and not your OFFICE computer).. try sending it to a friend and let him/her open it.
3. Open your file at the office and delete everything (also clear out your material editor slots & environment maps).. this will leave you with an empty maxfile, then save it as a different file.. Lastly, try opening this empty file on your home computer (or maybe even attach a copy of it here). If this empty file still shows you some errors, it could be that your maxfile is corrupted somewhere. One way to clean it up is to merge everything over to a new max scene, then save that as your new maxfile.

I hope this helps!
