silvercrown: Lighting & Texture Competition (Filipino Ancestral Home)

Post by silvercrown on Sun Mar 08, 2009 6:24 am

Concept: An old Filipino Ancestral Home
Im leaning towards a casual type of ancestral house and not on the traditional, conservative, restored type of ancestral houses... (will try to make this version....)
I wanted to capture the provincial, laid-back ambiance and atmosphere of an old Filipino Ancestral House found in the provinces...
Elements are a mixture of different influences (spanish, american, filipino, etc) and changes brought by the family's many generations that sometimes are incoherent but somehow managed to evolve and gave character to the interiors of these old houses...
Joined this contest to challenge myself and push my knowledge of this craft a little further... specially that im working on a different field right now... whew... the woe of migration... Smile
Comments and suggestion are welcome! thumbsup

great concept! though i probably expected something closer to those vigan style interiors. honestly based on what i see in your WIP the colors and tonality isn't 100% identifiable as filipino ancestral.

here is a link dude. some suggestions lang. im sure madami pa niyan sa interior design books and the net but if you can replicate this effect your entry will be one solid competition piece. thumbsup

Thanks sa suggestion bro! Very well taken... Actually yan talaga unang pumasok sa isip, a conservative/traditional filipino ancestral house... like the vigan, san diego house in cebu, montinola house in iloilo and the old ancestral houses in silay etc...
but i'm also leaning to a more casual type of ancestral house... wherein it depicts different influences and changes made all throughout the many eras until the generation of today.... Not the traditional/aristocratic type...
but it's still a WIP, i could still make necessary changes.... Thanks alot bro! I really appreciate it!
