Background:
The cyborg Eulenspiegel, named after a German trickster of folklore origin, has been dubbed so for its capricious overall nature. Eulenspiegel or “Jack the Ripper” as norms have aptly called it, was one of the results of the machines’ study and analysis of psychological warfare. Its main purpose was to mimic morale deterioration tactics, which has been applied by norms for hundreds of years. Project Number 009: Psycho-Tactical Manoeuvres investigated the best way to inflict both insult to injury to the enemy. Thus, the image of an “evil jester” has been adapted.

Techno-Organic:
The Jack cyborg shows no flesh whatsoever. As it was a result of human psyche analysis, it has been observed that norms no longer psychologically and react to the once abhorrent sight of combinations of flesh and machine. It seems that due to the sheer number of cyborgs of the like, norms have developed ways to counter such emotions. Eulenspiegel therefore keeps all organic matter inside its armour, keeping it as a final battery reserve. However, it can still actually remove its secondary mask to reveal a rotting organic head with expressions of insurmountable agony.

SMIRK:
Eulenspiegel is primarily a sniper unit. However, its form variants give it flexible roles given various situations in combat.
Its prime directive is to take out significant personnel, weapons, and structures of the enemy. The secondary directive is to force whatever means necessary to drop the morale and fighting spirit of the organics.
Eulenspiegel utilizes the SMIRK (Sonar Modulation using Integrated Resonance Kinetics) to achieve both directives. SMIRK is basically a high frequency sound emitted by the unit which is received by the enemy as some sort of evil voice or laugh recording. Eulenspiegel uses this system as a sonar tracking system. In addition, its rifle rounds are programmed to track down brain waves receiving the signals. This is no more than a means of precision tactics for the machines. Norms in the other end however, would break in terror as they hear the evil SMIRK… seconds only before a sniper round hits their brains.
