Tagal kung nakapagstart, mejo nalito ako sa problem kaya ito nalang, isang simple na concept, maliit na bahay lang, baka hindi kayanin ng laptop ko. Design concept will be explained after matapus ang final render...

Re: Princessjay: Bahay Kubo of the Future Design Competition (Final)
Hi Guys,
Here are my final shots for the competition. I wanted to make an interior shot and put some details and furnitures sa interior parts but kailangan ko na matapus to today kasi magiging busy kami sa trabaho sa mga susunod na araw.
I will not call this as the future bahay kubo because for me, after how many years, our traditional kubo will always look the same. In fact my first concept was a traditional bahay kubo lang, mejo mai nagbago sa ibang materials but mostly yung environment lang ang magbabago. But then I realized this is a design competition, so Ive decided to change my concept.
The concept is to make a simple house, as simple as the bahay kubo. Inspired by its form and functions. A house that has all the positive aspects of the kubo and none of its downside. I want to improve its stability against natural calamities like typhoons so steels and concrete masonry will be used as the structural framing but indigenous materials like bamboo, abaca and banig will be use for sun screens, ceiling, flooring and partitions to lessen the construction cost.
The form was inspired by the basic form of the kubo which is cubic, but I wanted to add more spaces and areas to be more functional, giving it a twist, I made a bunch of cubes connected to one another.
A traditional kubo uses a space outside the house to receive guests, it was adopted in this design but bamboo screens were provided to create a sense of privacy and filters heat from the sun during summer.Only twenty percent of the walls and partitions were totally enclosed, the rest are bamboo screens and jealousy windows to maximize views, natural daylight and ventilation. Active areas of the house has bamboo slats flooring for ventilation purposes as well. By doing this, power consumption will also be minimize.
Dedicated to my wife and daughter...
