to mammoo_03
this is my first post so i don't want to be a pain, and definitely don't want to get to theoretical with you
i haven't really read the guidelines for this competition but just my 2cents...
if you are using the ifugao house as a purely aesthetic model for your design then i rest my case, but if you're trying to extract the essence of why the house looks as it is, then your translation needs to go much deeper, first thing i noticed were the cylindrical discs on the posts that you kept on your design, with your roof sloping downwards to the ground, the ifugaos placed those disks to prevent rats from climbing their houses, so the fact that you have the whole house sitting on the ground with just a raised part seems to defeat the purpose of their ingenuity especially if your roof goes straight to the ground.
secondly, the ifugao house thrives because of its ingenious way of assembly, beams, columns and walls can be taken down like lego blocks without the need for string (or straws) to bind them together, which i think is a good starting point for a more sustainable architecture in the future where parts can be reused, reconfigured and re-thought to suit one's needs.

thank you sir gjo507 for the infos regarding the cylindrical post. I'm into aesthetic model for the design concept. I want just want the form of the Ifugao house for its character. Regarding the ingenious way of assembly, that's were modern structural element will come. The concept is to have it as single detached and if possible, a high-rise residential.
