Lonely Town

Post by viTAMINs on Wed Nov 18, 2009 5:49 am

Hi everyone, its been a long time since my last post.

I have created this set almost a year ago. But because I had a very tight schedule, it was left sitting in my closet up until 2 - 3 months ago I decided to revive it. I did my best working 1 or 2 hours a night working on it right after coming home from work. Finally, I was able to complete the whole set and added a few animation clips as consolation. Everything in the scene, except for the animals, were modeled and animated by myself. Most objects were unwrapped and hand painted in photoshop. The animation and still were rendered on my personal computer.

The scene is about a small rural town. I tried to depict a time after a rain just right when the town experienced a long dry season. Anyway, below is the short animation clip and images of the scene. I hope you like it, and please do add comments and critics.

Please try to expand the view size of the clip to see more details. The embedded clip is too small and compressed.

Lonely Town from Paul Anthony Tamin on Vimeo.

Original renders were at 3000 resolution.

First dun sa stone pavements..pano ni scatter yung mga stones?vray scatter or scatter modifier? and how many stone variation you made bago mo sya ni scatter? are they in dfferent diffuse maps or same lang..by the way nice water flowing on that pavers..like that idea..
2nd yung creepers..Ivy gen or you modeled it by yourself??
and last 3000px per frame?gano po katagal ang rendering per frame and ano po poly count nyo?
Salamat po sir and i hope i didnt bother you with these questions..Thanks po ulit.. Smile

icefrik19: Thanks

ARCHITHEKTHURA: thanks...i dont mind the questions....as for the large stones, they were manually placed, manually rotated...I made 4 kinds of them, textured them differently and shuffled the textures to those types then arranged them in place. The small stones, i somehow did the same..but this time, i used a advance painter to paint the them manually.

The creepers, i also generated them in ivy gen. i took a lot of trial and error to guide them thru the wire and behave the way i wanted them to behave.

3000 resolution for the still images took about 1-2 hours per image...as for the animation frames, its 1024 x 576 and it rendered about 20-30 mins per frame including precalculation.

i did add a fog, though the fog i placed on the scene was not emphasized properly..

kurdaps!: maraming salamat master. Yup, babalik ako...

torvicz: hehehe..thanks

natski08: maraming salamat

arkiedmund: thanks mund...yup, may konting noise sa door...it was more clear dun sa scene na yun...how i wish i could re-render the whole animation, pro mahirap na...will take a lot of time..

Thanks po sa reply sir tamin..enough na din po pla and 1024x576.
Thats what ive thought as well about the fog.i noticed you placed some but not really dense to emphasize more on the details.
Again nice animation sir and thanks for sharing your ideas as well..

really impress with the amount of details, the render, the models, the texture, lighting.. excellent tamins. I also like the part of the animation yung nag wawave na rug at yung nag sssway na lamp, tapos sa liklod you could see the movement of the horse. my only comment is the compositing.. medyo bitin ako sa patay sindi... at hilo ako sa bigalng bilis ng animation.. nevertheless i will give you 5 star for the concept and hard work in producing the environment and sensitivity to the amount of details that you have put.. i encourage you to do some more animation pa at i recompose yung animation.. sayang.
