Share your Simple Pool Render

Post by nomeradona on Mon Nov 23, 2009 6:44 am

Hi guys, this might be a mini challenge but i dont want to call it like that. I think its more on sharing our thoughts, experience, render, settings about a certain topic.. There are times when were bored walang magawa, why not divert those times with something useful, fun and educational... by rendering a simple scene.

I started a thread at asgvis.com. "post your simple render" and it has lots of interest.. but i think this type is too big so i decided to make the coverage smaller...

siguro lets start with a pool, (swimming pool, reflected pool)...

I hope we can have lots of interest in order to pave way in this type of approach...

btw one of the objective also is to for this threads to became a knowledge sharing strings, let say may magandang material, or workflow, don't hesitate to ask question, give tips, and also share your experiment afterwards kung ikaw ay nabigyan ng tip...by doing this we will all learn from each other. Its also nice to compare how different rendering engine process the same subjects...

anjong has shared this simple render here http://www.cgpinoy.org/architectural-f3/pool-t7896.htm about pool, i like it but i think the refraction of water needs to improve further..here sabi nya walang magawa.. walang maiisip... but manage to divert his energy for being bored to something useful. In this render as simple it is we can learn a lot.. and im sure anjong has discovered something too. so this is really the main objective on this type of thread.

pwede rin erick.. vray max ba to? any special setting that you use for the water. medyo hirap ako ng kaunti sa refraction pagdating sa vraymax.
sana may magexplore ng caustics.. yung natural hindi yung using opacity map.

ser nomer, vray for max na po yan... no special settings.. just black on the diffuse slot, black on the reflection and add falloff map, the color of your water varies on your refraction slot... well on that case i used very light blue (nearing to white)... add noise on bump slot, and on caustics naman... hirap kase pag mahina ang pc... havent tried that pa naman but i will... for the mean time ps muna ang caustic effects....
