Flicker Free Animation Patulong po mga Masters =(
I was rendering an animation project Using 3Ds Max9, Vray 1.5 renderer... po di parin makuha kuha ang flicker sa gilid ng shadows... Any good suggestions po mga Master?... Tanx po in Advance... May settings po ba kayo na pd marefer sakin?... Despirado talaga akong kunin ang Flicker free animation..hanggang ngayon ayaw parin...huhuhuh

sa experience ko ang isa sa magandang paraan para maiwasan ang flicker ay irender mo ung IR at LC as render to file.. sakin usually ire-render ko sya every 10th frame.... then saka mo sya i-load... anyway abangan natin ang mga suggestion ng mga masters

tanx sa reply Tol =)... give me a day to post yong Specs na ginawa koh... Actually, sinunod ko naman yang Prepass na yan eh...po di parin makuha kuha... ill post yong settings ko Tol, from the prepass settings to the Fnal IR... Tanx uli sa reply Tol... GOdbless!!!

Current Settings used in a scene: (na hanggang ngayon may flicker parin)
Image Sampler: Adaptive QMC
Anti- Aliasing Filtr: Catmull-rom
Indirect Illumination(GI):
Pri Bounce: Irradiance Map
2nd Bounce: LC
Irradiance Map:
Current Preset: High Animation (high na po yan)
Hsph:50
Intr Sample:20
Intr Type: Least Squares
Sample Look-up: Density base(best)
Mode: From File (eto yong prepass ko na una na ni-load ko lng after the pre-pass animation) (alam ko dito nagkakatalo-talo ang flickering eh, po ginawa ko naman, po bat ayaw parin?) (correct me po ng unang setting ng prepass na niload koh) =)
LC: (from file din po) na prepass ko na rin po to.... huhuhu... ayaw yata akong tantanan ng bwisit na flickering na to... makuha ko lng tong flickering na to, masaya na po ako...
OTHER SEttings (no need to disccuss)

i think its the AA concern.
catmull rom is a no-no for animation specially for com positing process
it may leave you some unstable frames...
just my personal preferences -
i prefer area for this
. and nga pala
can you tell us your work flow on the compo- process
.. messing w. the aspect ratio can also cause some f-

This is How i did my compo process(from the start to the end)
1) (prepass calculation for Light Cache)
Image Sampler: Adaptive QMC
Anti- Aliasing Filtr: Catmull-rom
Indirect Illumination(GI): (for LC lang muna)
Pri Bounce: LC
2nd Bounce: LC
Light Cache:
Subdivs:1000
Sample size: 2cm
Scale: World (interior ang current scene ko)
# of passes: 2 (para mas madali)
Check pre-filter :10
Filter: nearest
Intrp sample: 10
MODE: Fly-through
RENDER THE ENTIRE SCENE, then after rendering the entire scene,
SAVE Light Cache to File,
Set MODE to FILE, then look for the save LC then load.
2) (Calculating the Irradiance Map)
Image Sampler: Adaptive QMC(same)

LASTLY, RENDERING the FINAL ANIMATION:

Check Normals (sabi daw to avoid flickering, eh nacheck ko narin po eh)
SET RENDERING in EVERY Nth FRAME
RENDER the FINAL ANIMATION....... and i still got flickered output =(
Hope po Clear sa inyo yong pagkakasunod ko ng Work flow ng compo process ko MASTERs. Kong may napuna po kayong MALI sa ginawa ko, sawatahin nyo na po kaagad para malaman ko mali ko MASTERs...Tnx po ulit sa Tulong nyo... =)
Nasubmit ko na po ang OUTPUT ko sa Cliente ko, po Me as an Artist very dissapointing sa mga Flicker na nakikita ko. Parang naduduling ako sa mga object na makita ko specially pag malapitan na sila sa Camera, parang obvious ang Flickering ng every Frame.... HOPE this discussion would benifit also other CG Artist... tanx po ulit=)

Ay May Mali po pala sa PORTION ng LIGHT CACHE work flow na napost ko....
during the Actual Work Flow, in the LIGHT CACHE pre-pass rendering, nilagay ko sa previous post na "i did RENDER the ENTIRE scene", po sa Actual, i Only RENDER the single FRAME using a FLY-THROUGH MODE then save it in a disk and then load it.... is this the Problem? Should i RENDER talaga yong ENTIRE SEQUENCE when CALCULATING the LIGHT CACHE FLY-THROUGH mode?...or RENDERING a SINGLE FRAME will do? then SAVE it?... baka eto nga Problema ko? TAnx alot po RENDER MASTER. pacenxa na po sa bad words.. hehe...

Kailangan mo irender ang entire sequence kahit every 10th frame or less kasi nagbabago ang distrubution ng ilaw sa buong animation at ngiiba ang areas ng may GI sa isang frame.
ito naman ang lternative settings you can try.
1. Adaptive DMC
2. AA - Mitchel-Netravali
3. Adaptive DMC min = 2
4. Adaptive DMC max = 6
5. Medium Settings
6. HSph Subdivs = 80 (ito yung ngpapaganda at nagtatanggal ng blotches)
7. 2000 lightcache
8. lightcache subdivs = 0.001
rest is the same sayo. good luck!

Adaptive QMC po ba ibig mong sabihin?.. wala po akong DMC na nakita eh...hehe...
try ko po setting na binigay nyo. So i still need to come up a LC pre-pass calculation for the Entire setting po?...like yong ginawa ko sa taas?...den save it uli and load...
Tanong ko lng po Master Bokkins kong kailangan ba talagang i-calculate lahat ng frames sa LIGHT CACHE PRE-PASS?..or isang frame lng ok na para sa buong sequence?

for example 3000 frames ka, kailangan mo icalcute at least 300 frames (every 10 frames) kahit at smaller resolution.
