my guess is, your 3dsmax 32bits will just use up to 3500MB. if you want to use at least 6000MB on memory allocation you have to use 64bits version.

Of course 32-bit 3dsmax in a 64-bit OS will act like a 32-bit application. As for RAM it will use up to 3GIGs of RAM (I do not know where AKA's other 500mb came from)

Kung mababasa ng 32 bit 3dsmax and RAM ng 64 bit OS eh di dapat di na naglabas ng 64-bit version ng max.

If you have a 64-bit machine/OS - take advantage of the speed and the memory it offers by using the appropriate version of 3dsmax.

@loverboy vertex
theoritically 32bit can read up to 4GB via PAE but because of some memory allocations it can only benefit from 3.5 and lower. but still it is just a theory.

thanks AKA. for 32 bit applications/OS - its only 3GIGS if you have the 3GB switch. As for 64 bit OS - I'd assume the switch will be automatic. But never trust MAX as it has a mind of its own when it comes to RAM allocations. Give it more and it will not use it, give it less and it will ask for more...

As for AF, tis the wisest and will use every RAM it finds in the system.

thanks. I guess there's only one way to find out! I've done my own research and, yes, you don't need the switch.

Just for an info lang po.
