Activating Production Shader in Mental Ray

Exposing the Mental Ray Production Shaders in Max 2008
As promised, here is the way to expose the production shaders that exist in the max.mi.
CAUTION this is for you advanced users out there. Please save a copy of the max .mi before you change it scenes at the moment. There is no support for this part of Max

1. find the file called>> production_max.mi
2. open in notepad
3. do a search and replace
find "hidden" replace with # "hidden"
EXCEPT FOR THE FIRST ENTRY!!!!!!
The result is that the MI Production Shadersare exposed to Mental Ray.

These include:
mr Raytype Switcher
mr Raytype Switcher (advanced)
mr Raytype Switcher (environment)
mr Card Opacity
mr Motion Blur
mr Motion Vector Export
mr Matte/Shadow/Reflection (map)
mr Camera Map
mr Mirror Ball
mr Gray Ballmr Gamma & Gain
mr Matte/Shadow/Reflection (material)
mr Gamma
mr Gain

hingi po ako tulong, bago lang ako s max, mental ray po gamit ko. ang problema ko lang eh kung bakit pag naglalagay nako ng lens effect, partikular n s glow,rays, etc, palaging lumalabas ang message nato: ''the ff. render effects are not compatible w/ the bitmap format selected for rendering. the selected bitmap format is: RGBA color 32bits/channel''

sana po matulungan nyo ko dito kasi 100% ko sinusunod mga tutorials, baka sa setting lang mali ko kaso hindi ko alam kung ano particular ang mali dun.

check the setup
- Go to the main menu and choose: Rendering > Render Setup > Renderer tab > Sampling Quality > Frame Buffer Type.

- From the Frame Buffer Type drop down, choose: Integer (16 bits per channel). You should now be able to render
Lens Effects Glows in Mental Ray mode.
