Oriental: Warrior of the Wind

Post by Rhythem02 on Fri Feb 26, 2010 4:39 am

First topic message reminder :

Hi, Guys here is my latest 3d port folio.

Below is the initial concept, as you can see it started out quite simple, but i couldn't help it I ended up doing lots of stuff even after the sculpting and during the retopology. This happens a lot to me most of the time after a few glimpse of the concept I easily get tired of it or i see something is not balance and ended up adding or changing all throughout the process.

The final pose will be posted later, rending just takes up lots of time.

C and C are mostly welcome.

Everything is superb except the pose. It's a girly pose for a masculine archer. Maybe you should reconsider that. Dapat matipuno ang stance. chest out at malapad ang coverage. Right now, mukha syang mahinhin at very fragile.

But then again, superb modeling, texturing and rendering. 2thumbsup

For the latest comments thanks

about the pose and the theme. Seeing archers on movies specially Japanese animation, they are the kind of figure that are sensitive and feminine. So I guess I got that perception, and interpreted very strongly on this image.

I'll try to interpret better on my future portfolios, but for now I'm happy with this.

Aproved!

Sir bokks, I think you have a very considerable side of idea for an Archer... but for me, more often, Archers are meant to be slim and petite in terms of character designs and concepts, as they fight in long range... mostly seen in most movies or animations. unlike warriors like swordsmen for instance, being a close range fighters, they are intentionally big in proportion in character designs and concepts... So I think this Archer's built and design is nicely done in terms of concept and design, from the built, costumes and stance, the artist was able to capture a typical archer from the looks and feel. Also, this character may have been designed for a purpose in the story or game, who knows...

Sayang ganda pa naman nung arm guard... well anyway... AWESOOOOME pa rin mehn eheh

@Archi.Karl - I actually quit my job last december as Buyer/Planner in a manufacturing company just to focus all of my time in 3d modelling.

I'm searching at the moment. But it's quite hard to find a job here in the Philippines.

I hope I don't end up on the same position I left for. If everything fails maybe I'll purse my course I took in college which is computer science, and put 3d modeling on back burner for a while .
