hi sir..
actually madami din mga softwares like revit nga kasi ung mga quantity like doors and windows nandun na..kaso di lahat nandun..
pero for me..excel would do..
hope this could help...
the perfect formula to acheive a quality estimate is to do it hand to hand first..
this include basic estimates and actual experience kasi paulit ulit lang yan..
from there you could conclude your own formula (like multiplying factors nlang) per subject..
tapos gawa mo nang system sa excel na area or volumes nlang iniinput mo..
den you have a beutiful working BOM system na inuupdate nalang ang price..
hehe..

actually alang specific software. ako meron pang structural analysis (excell)
just give the tributary area of each column ( 2 storey up to 10) ibibigay sa yo details ng design. nakalagay narin doon iyong evaluation kung safe or not safe.

pero kung quantity surveying naman ang need mo, meron din ako. say column - ibigay mo ang full height, ibibigay sa yo details ng materials.( sand, gravel, cement, pako, tie wire, scaffolding etch). but still you have to analize it everything. kase maraming factor to consider.

sa painting naman, kapag naderive na ang plastering automatic derive din ang painting areas. and more.........

anyway, alang especific software, i just use excell.
